Data Field Request - Segment Elapsed Time

Can I please put forward a request for a future updat being "Segment Elapsed Time" to be available, ie. a stopwatch that automatically starts at 0:00:00.00 when you commence a segment. I would and am sure others would find this very useful. Thanks.
  • If not this, maybe have a setting that you can turn on to Auto Trigger a new lap when a segment starts, ie. Training > Segments > Auto Lap > On/Off

I would really appreciate the elapsed segment time also. It is especially usefull on known and often ridden segments.

I would also welcome such a data field as Segment Elapsed Time. I'm surprised it's not already available.

  • a segment time data field would be a huge help. The time ahead/behind feature is helpful but sometimes it jumps around too much, especially with a push at the end of the segment. I hope Garmin will look into this. Seems quite simple. Thank you!!

I don't understand how Garmin hasn't considered introducing this data field yet. Seems quite useful. Disappointing.

  • A very similar option exists on the 520 Plus. It is called "Time-Lap". You have to manually press the lap button (bottom left) at the start of the segment and it works OK. I agree Segment Elapsed Time would be nice, but it is no big deal in my opinion. I hate to be a Garmin apologist, but this time I am.

The time lap option for segments is not the best solution. Once lap button pressed, the segment screen disappears along with al its valuable information- e.g. time behind/ahead, remaining distance...  I think it is quite simple to add the segment elapsed time, but someone at Garmin would have to be interested...  This discussion forum is full of good ideas...

  • What Picasso27 says is true, but you can scroll back to the segment screen showing time ahead/behind, etc.

I agree the people at Garmin should look at these forums for ideas, but I doubt they do it often, especially for a model other than the latest.

  • This request was posted 5 years ago, and obviously many users want it, and it can't be that hard to display that value. So... come on, Garmin!!  (I am using the Garmin Edge 130, by the way.)

  • you got this in the year 2022 for the Garmin 1040!
