This is for those using RWGPS premium with some frequency. I created a simple test route and used the default prompt at 30m (had it set to 5 but due to GPS error the prompt was after the turn). At 30m, the prompt is exactly before the turn. Has anyone played around with other settings and what do you usually use as a default?
I like 80 meters in advance... When riding quickly (around 18-22 mph) it gives me enough notice... Can be confusing, however, when there are multiple quick turns in a row. But I prefer early notice rather then too late.
30m is quite late yes because you have to ride "past" the course point before it will pop-up. That's why when it is setup at 0m and your advancing, the pop-up will show after the turn.
When set to 30m before a turn and your speed is quite fast, pop-up will come only a few meters before the turn.
Because you need to pay more attention to what happens on the intersection traffic wise the beep for the warning so close to the turn can be either distracting or annoying.
Setting it at a greater distance like SargeChris11 does is part of the solution. You can also tap on the message as a sort of acknowledge that you did read the message. This action will also unfreeze your screen because these messages freeze your screen for the time they are visible.
To overcome the problem with quick successive turns, you can edit the text message (max 10 chars) into something like L-2éR-L (which means Left, 2nd Right, Left) and delete the messages in between.
