Seems that the the Edge 130 measures temperature but I cannot show it on the display!? Very surprised that this most basic feature is not available. Will this come with an update?
Not odd - Garmin artifical restrictions. I.e. battery is only symbol, but internally % is available. Seems CIQ datafields still can use all available. So ie. one of my CIQ datafields shows battery level in %. So you may like to look for a CIQ datafield supporting tempreture. Despite that temperature is availabe by weather notification.

I'm guessing weather notification is forecast not actual from device though?
That's a good idea, although to be fair, temperature data is not really needed during the course of my rides, whereas things like precipitation/severe alerts are more important. Need to use phone for that.
As mentioned - other option is to check for a CIQ datafiled offering temperature.
There are not to many. Just got to the CIQ Shop and restrict to Edge 130. The only I can state is "My Edge" does not allow settings, so you can't check the available fields and "All in one" is for the moment not 130 compatible
If it's the forecast weather you are referring to it does display on the 130. There is even weather screen that you can display during rides.
How is this done? While a ride is active I see no way to return there.
More to the topic at hand, the Edge 130 does not include a temperature sensor. Weather data has to be pulled or pushed from the Connect phone app. Whether this can be done via a data field or page (widget?) I do not know, but I would love for it be possible as I live in southern Arizona and temperature data can be invaluable.
