The Screen turns off for a second while riding

Hello,

As the title says, I’ve been experiencing an issue with the screen. While riding, the screen sometimes (apparently at random) goes off for a second and then turns back on.

I’ve already reset the device, but the issue still occurs. The device is connected to a cadence sensor and a dual heart rate monitor strap.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I got a replacement 1050 yesterday. I'll set it up today and try it out tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed for a resolution to this.

Beta thread was closed with status completed and the following explanation:

What does this mean? Is this a hardware problem? I'll try the support, we will see how well this will work here in germany

I contacted Garmin Iberia and explained the problem. They asked for the Garmin folder from the Edge 1050, as well as a video showing the issue. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to film a video while riding, especially since the "bug" is completely random.

Garmin Germany wants me to send it back for exchange. Looks like a hardware problem then. Bad in the middle of the season...

Have it too but seems since 28.xx cannot remind having it before, but then only see it when on trainer, on the road have other worries to address than staring at screen.

For those who contacted support, would be interesting to know how they categorise this ? Warranty or bug !

I was asked by support today to send in the device. I'll know more in 2 or 3 weeks ...

Garmin is replacing my device. They want it back to examine, but I'm getting an advance replacement, so I'm not without one for riding (they charge $380 and refund it when the old device is returned).

I have not requested an advance replacement as my 830 is still working and I can use it as a spare.

I never keep my older devices. When I got the 1050 I gave my wife my 1040 and sold her 820.

I noticed this too. So weird. It sort of scrolls out to black and then resets.
