Given the impact (I'm delaying heading of on camping tour as I need navigation), could Garmin use this forum to provide updates and details.

1. What stage is any fix at.

2. ETA on release (qualified eg "Assuming no beta issuers")

3. Nature of problem (we need confidence in any fix)

Once fixed version is released are updated phased (eg might be several days until device reports "New Version Available"). Some AppStore app updates are phased over quite a few days so does Garmin do the same and if so how can we force an update?

    OK, a request we be kept up to date with fixing from Garmin, ETAs for fix, etc. ign ored by Garmin.

    Speaks volumes about Garmin's attitude to their customers.

    My current 1050 is thus the last Garmin device I will buy ... or rather I won't be buying any more. Seems not a company that has consideration. for its customers, not even prepared to keep them up-to-date after they've effectively bricked their device.
