Suggestions to Improve Remote Functionality

Hello Garmin team and fellow users,

I would like to share my thoughts on the remote control functionality. While the current design is useful, I believe there are some key areas for improvement:

  1. Programmable Buttons: It would be highly beneficial if every button on the remote were fully programmable to better suit individual needs.

  2. Zoom Functionality: Currently, there is no option to zoom in or out on maps directly using the remote. This feature would greatly enhance usability, especially during navigation.

These enhancements could make the product more versatile and user-friendly. Thank you for considering this feedback!

    To me the Garmin Edge Remote is one of the strongest selling points for Garmin edge devices. As far as I know, neither Wahoo nor Hammerhead have such a thing. It makes the usage of the 1050 a lot more comfortable. The remote ist still available in the German Garmin store, an there is even a new remote for E-Bikes, which allows you to change the motor support. In both devices there is only one customizable button, and for the new remote, the bike manufacturer determines, which funktions is available for customization. So the E-Bike remote looks pretty useless to be, because almost all E-bikes should already have a switch for shiftign the motor support.

    Garmin should make the remote definitely more customizable or provide a new version with more functionality.

    I agree. I think it is a great little product. In fact I’m wondering where I can get more mounts for my other bikes for those wet/cold/winter days.
