Attention: Garmin Cycle Maps will no longer be available for Edge bike computers

I just installed the new 2025.10 maps via Garmin Express.

Attention:

Cycling Maps Starting May 7, 2025, Garmin Cycle Maps will no longer be available for Edge® bike computers and Garmin watches. The same map content will be included in our TopoActive maps and can be purchased or downloaded on compatible devices.     I don’t know about how many, maybe it’s just me not knowing how to customise detail, colour etc.

    I just bought one. I cannot get it to load the update, even after unchecking all maps for other than Europe in Garmin Express. There is just not enough memory with this, the Solar has twice the memory. I don't know where to look to delete files to allow updating the Europe TopoActive.

    Did you try to do this in two steps: first unselect the installed maps via Express, click apply. Then reconnect the Edge when Express asks for it and install the maps you want.

    Yes that is the only way I could get the Europe maps on at all, after unchecking all other localisations outside of EU.

    Yes but to update your EU maps I meant that you first uninstall the already installed maps, reconnect the Edge to your computer and then install the EU maps again. That will install the latest version of the maps available instead of doing an in-place update.

    I am unable to access or update any of my maps to topoactive. On Express, only cyclemap and some OSM city navigator is available. On the device it shows a mix of cyclemap and topoactive, but all maps are actually just cyclemap 2024. I have been in touch with Garmin support but this is still unresolved; they said "We had a few issues with the map change + Garmin Express that have been addressed by engineering... but engineering will keep us posted once they contact us." 

    Is anyone else having difficulty even accessing the new maps?
