It's not possible for me to go from 27.xx to 26.17 with my original saved file.

I've gone from 27.07 to 26.17, but it is very unlikely that the exact version will matter.

Just as FYI. I did a factory reset after 27.07. So think I've met most of these troubleshooting steps already. The rollback is underway thanks @beyondOSM.

I am getting more and more depressed by what the Garmin software engineers mean by software updates. The latest firmwares are corrupt, they kill basiscs functionality. Mine Edge 1040 produces spontaneous reboots while riding, or screens are freezing. The machine has become useless.

I want to go back to a firmware version without these problems, and that basic navigation will work again.

But by reading and looking around the links provided here, I still can't find the procedure HOW to rollback which should be available in some sort of readme-file in a forum about watches.

I hope somebody can put me on the correct track to find the "How" of backrolling from the currently installed beta (27.9) to the firmware 26.17 I have downloaded already.
