Problem with Di2 connection after update to firmware 18.23

hello everyone.

Since I updated to firmware 18.23 the connection with my Di2 does not work correctly. The gears are displayed delayed and the handlebar controls do not work until pressed many times.

I would appreciate including this issue as an improvement in the next firmware version

Regards

Marcelo

  • Can't confirm, that the problem is besser with 18.25 and ultegra. Still the same and no difference to 18.23. Works horrible since 18.23

  • Yes we have a ticket on this.

  • Here is my minor solution for Ultegra 8050 Di2 disconnection with Garmin Edge 1040 Solar (18.25 for APAC firmware).

If your 1040 can't find your Di2, put your device ID (5 digits.  Mine was 14202) manually while your Garmin device is searching for it.  After this, my Di2 is being stuck to a device well, but I don't yet have any field tests.

I've got my own hint on this from the full list of sensors being managed by Garmin Connect App, as there is the unidentified sensor named "Other 14202".

FYI, I still haven't gotten any profer responses from Garmin who sold over USD 1k worth of old-school bike computers.  They're really pathetic. :-(

  • This will make no difference unfortunately as its just a different method of performing the initial pairing but when you come to use the sensor it will connect in the same way as if you had searched for the sensor.

This issue is annoying but a lot of the posts here have no useful information that can help Garmin troubleshoot and resolve the issue.  You have said you have Ultegra 8050 but haven't said what wireless unit you are using and the group set used (unless 12 speed Shimano) isn't relevant.

I have sent some logs from my Garmin but have been asked for additional test but unfortunately I'm not using my affected bike at the moment as I am riding indoors.

  • Stephane here, lead service advisor from a large bike shop in Halifax NS, Canada .  I have experienced similare issue on my Garmin 1040, connecting to my Di2 system, part of a Steps drivtrain.  Gears will not show correctly but can see that the Garmin is "aware" of what gear is being used using the tooth count display option.  Please contact me as you see fit.

  • Any updates on this issue?

Just got a 840 with the latest 19.19 firmware and the di2 connection is terrible with the gear fields updating very slowly and the shifter buttons working sporadically.

I have a 530 and it works great.
