Recording Interval option is missing after updating to 15.23

After updating to 15.23 there is no longer a system menu to change recording interval: System > Data Recording > Recording Interval option

I can no longer see or change recording interval either through Garmin Connect or directly on the Edge 1040.

  • I second recording gives more accurate segment times if you use segments as the times are computed from the recorded data.

For power data you need data recorded at 1 second intervals for metrics like NP to be computed.

  • So if I have been using a power meter since the Vector 1 pedals came out, have I been getting one second recording even if I have Data Recording set to Smart?

That might make sense, because yesterday, I changed the setting to "one second" before going on my ride.  The Edge 1040 created a .FIT file of 159kb, while the 1030 Plus in my pocket created a .FIT file of 208kb.  This is in line with other rides I've done with both units set to "Smart", where the Edge 1040 is about 75% the size of the Edge 1030 Plus.

Do you have any information about why the Edge 1040 produces a smaller .FIT file?  It appears to have all the right information.  I've observed that my Edge 1040 consistently registers more Ascent than the Edge 1030 Plus; otherwise, the summary values are quite close.
