14.20 Update broke Varia Radar / Light support

Ever since 14.14, I no longer can form a light network with the Varia RTL515. I also need to manually connect the radar in sensors each ride in order for it to connect, but the light feature no longer works at all. The light won't connect and shows in the light network (I also have a Varia UT800 Head light). I have tried deleting all the sensors and even resetting the RTL515 and pairing fresh, but it will only pair the radar and the light on the RTL515 can't been seen anymore. Confirmed there's not an issue with the RTL515 by pairing it with my old Garmin Edge 830 and it worked fine so definitely something with the 14.20 update broke it.

    Hi, I have exactly the same problem and have a UT800 head light. There's definitely a Garmin software issue - they just need to pull their finger out and fix it!

    It’s an odd fault. I had problems with the very first released firmware and the fact it migrated the sensors over from the other unit. I deleted the sensors and added them in “fresh”. They worked for every firmware release without any problems.  

    no idea why these things affect some people and not others but it appears to be the case. Have you tried deleting all the sensors and then adding again, then a full reset. I also seemed to remember I might have needed to add one before the other (radar/rear before headlight.?). But I can’t remember.

    Hi, yes I've deleted and added the lights and unfortunately it's not resolved.

    you might need to contact Garmin support, they tried to resolve this issue by investigating all the ant log file I shared with them, after a month they still can't resolve it and offered a replacement unit, the new unit no longer has the issue.

    Did they replace your Varia or Edge?
    My Edge is replaced for an other issue. The Varia issue remains...

    What worked for me was to delete all the light and radar pairings on the 1040 solar (UT800 - paired ok and RTL510 - only the radar ever paired, never the light) and then reset the RTL510 by holding the power button for 8 seconds. I then put the RTL into pairing mode (hold power button for 2 seconds to get flashing purple LED) and then did a search for sensors on the 1040.  Both the light and radar were detected and I added them. I then paired and added the UT800 light.
