Reverse courses - routes

I had trouble trying to reverse a course at the start of a ride with a friend today.  He had sent me the route through Strava and I had starred it which popped it up in my Connect app courses.  Trying to reverse it was unsuccessful.  I Iinally gave up and followed him and his Wahoo which had reversed it for him no problem.  It's been mentioned on here that on the connect ios app you can "duplicate" and then should have the reverse course option in the edit three-dot.  I've just tried it now and no luck.  Maybe would be able to do that on the connect website on the phone?  But that's digging pretty deep for something that's such a common need and should pretty easy to program in all things considered...

My experience: if you have starred a strava route, you can only reverse it by duplicating it on the connect website and not on the device, nor with the connect app. Wahoo is much simpler in reversing routes. Bummer for garmin users ;-) 

Remember that reversing a course sounds easier than it is. For Netherlands e.g., reversing a course means you have to select other cycle paths on the opposite of the road, you have to change the way you take roundabouts, sometimes it might not even be possible to find a usable road where you can cycle when reversing, so you need to detour. I sometimes reverse routes using an editor, but it seriously takes some effort. So maybe that's why Garmin does not offer this option.

What's incredible is that on my Forerunner 945 is present, I mean I can choose a course and I can choice to invert it, directly from the watch!

Having been unable to find the solution to reverse the direction of the course on the edge 1040 or the garmin connect android application

However, I found a solution (which I hope will be temporary...) that is not perfect, but which would have helped me in spite of everything yesterday to follow the route in the opposite direction.

So instead of reversing the route (feature that I can't find on the edge 1040 or garmin connect android app)
I activated in the parameters of the course "display always", it has the advantage of displaying the track to follow it.
However, this is only the track, so there will be no associated navigation functionality, nor the orientation arrows of the direction of travel.

I use Komoot to import a .gpx, reverse the course, import on the Komoot website and use the Komoot IQ app on the 1040.
