Can anyone report if Garmin have fixed the issue that the 1030+ has with ridiculously long responses to changes in gradient?

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the undesirable lag in road grade. We want to share that we have a plan for an improved solution with consideration of both accuracy and responsiveness. Our engineers…
@Garmin-Mathew.
If you really believe that 10-15 seconds delay is considered “normal” - as the official statement from Garmin is trying to force-feed customers, then what does that say about my Edge 1000…
I currently have a wahoo element (full size) a karoo2 and now a 1040 solar. as of the 12.14 release the 1040 solar still has a ridiculous lag as compared to the other two. I really don't care too much…
Went out this morning with a friend who has the 1030 (I have the 1040) and the lag I had was only 2 seconds, sometimes no lag at all. We did a few climbs and after the 18.25 release everything is perfect except when climb pro finishes it won,t revert back to your original page.
Well, maybe they will fix the gradient lag in the 1050. I won't be any garmins until this is and elevation are fixed. Karoo and Wahoo bike computers seem to have less bugs. Like others have mentioned, its odd they used the same hardware in the 1040 after seeing this issue int eh 1030+. I guess they don't care about accurate grade and elevation. Many of their potential customer sure do though. Vote with your $$$ folks...
Very agree. Enough is enough
Hi Matt, any ETA yet when this is going to be fixed. On shorter hills I’m already half way through when it pops up and thinks I just started. Topical example Sydney harbour bridge.. it in fact shows the climb is coming when it is actually I already completed it. Is my device faulty or this is “normal” behaviour?
I had an edge 800 before I upgraded to the 540. I can not believe the 10 years old 800 has a perfect gradient accuracy with no delay, whereas my brand new 540 is like 15s off. Very disappointed. I want my money back. How long do we have to wait until this is fixed?
I've got some bad news. This thread goes back a couple years. Never. Garmin Forums does not care about their customers in the least. Only to use us as ATM's to extract money from. On this issue they love to tell us we are the problem, these are normal tolerances. They think whenever they release the successor to the 1040 we are all going to forget and line up like sheep to give them $800. NOPE. I'll sooner ride with a sun dial on my bars then a Garmin ever again. Awful, awful company.
After 10 months of 'a plan' and engineers 'working on these improvements' what do you have to report?
@Garmin-Matthew is in his deep winter hibernation. Should arise in late May.
You do know this forum, is not customer support, it's just a user chat space. I really don't know what people expect from posting in this thread. I have several Garmin products including the Edge 1040. I have no issues with mine, the grade is reporting fine and all the other great features. Sounds to me you have a fault with yours and recommend contacting the actual customer support. The first Garmin product I had was the Edge 800, the 1040 is my fourth Edge and I've had three of their watches. The very few times over the years I've had to contact customer support I've had a good experience. Maybe you should try it?
