OSMaps from Edge 800 on Edge 1030Plus

Hiya. Is there a way of unlocking a OSMap for the Edge 800 (bought way back which I've finally upgraded) onto my new Edge 1030?

Some more info : I've copied the file over from the Edge 800 to the 1030 into \Garmin, when starting the 1030 I get the 'cannot unlock maps' message and the OS map is not listed under 'Map Information'.

You can download new OMS maps for free for you edge. See here for lots of details on how to do this

SimonBurgess is talking about “Ordinance Survey” maps. These “OS” maps are purchased and locked to a device.

He’s not doing talking Openstreetmap maps. These are “OSM” maps anyway (not “OMS”).

Yep to clarify I am talking about 'Ordinance Survey' maps (AKA OS Maps). Invaluable for off road stuff.

Purchased & downloaded maps are locked to the device ... they cannot be used on another device. You'll have to purchase the maps for the new device.

When you purchase maps on a SD card, they are locked to that card ... the card can be moved from device to device, since the card can only be in one device at a time.
