Garmin Edge 1030 battery drained after I fully charged it and while the device was shutdown

Hmmmm it happent to me also , and indeed, garmin was power off, i thought that I forgot it with the light "always on"

Yeah, same.  That's when I got religious about turning OFF thinking something was pulling it out of suspend, when it reality, suspend works perfect.  For me - the battery ONLY rapidly goes to 0% when powered off.

This has happened to me twice since the last update. Even in sleep mode, the battery would not drain. It has already been in sleep mode for several days and the battery charge has hardly been consumed.

Same issue here since the recent firmware upgrade 11.10. I can confirm that it happens when the device is powered off completely, will try standby mode.

My theory is this.  When you charge the unit it is supposed to power off automatically after it is fully charged.   Sometimes it does not power off after the charge is done so now I check it out after the charge before I put it away.

It _is_ a nice theory, unfortunately I busted it a couple months ago when I manually powered off when my 1030 was around 90% and wasn't plugged in. 

The only consistency I've found (so far) for the battery being flattened overnight is turning it off.  If manually suspend, or letting it suspend on it's own it won't use any battery at all for a week (or more).

Update for me.  After about 3 months of ONLY suspending and never powering off, I've not had any re-occurrences of the battery rapidly going down overnight.  Last week even got adventurous and turned back on the WiFI as last year that was pointed at as a possible cause.  Am now 5-6 days with WiFi still being enabled and battery not draining when suspended.  For my 1030 - it looks like it's only randomly happening when powered off with nothing other than that being a contributing factor.

hey Ken - just FYI - powering off seems to be what's creating this problem.  Sleep mode doesn't consume a a measurable amount of power per week and appears the best way to go for the health of the battery since power off doesn't work consistently.
