Third party Out Front Mounts?

Hello,

I purchased a 3rd party out from mount quite some time ago, but never had the occasion to use it till now. What I’m realizing is that edge 1030 is a bit tighter/harder to turn into locked position, and dog ears being one of the weaker points of the edge units in general, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. The particular one I’m using is an aluminum corki out front mount.

I've been using K-Edge mounts for several years without any problem.

Can’t help you. But I personally stick to only use garmin mounts and avoid metal mounts. I certainly do not want a mount made of a harder material than the edge itself.

The metal ones use the same plastic inserts. K-edge looks much more better than the clunky Garmin mounts.

Thanks guys. To clarify, yes, only the hardware is aluminum, the actual insert is plastic.

I've been using Corki out front mounts which have worked well for me. Have them on 3 bikes. They bind about the same as the Garmin outfront, but it gives me somewhere to mount my Powerpod underneath. The plastic locking insert is swappable.though if you got one that is tighter for some reason.

Hi, I use the fouriers out front mount on my propel. I took it apart then added a little thread lock to all the metal screws for peace of mind, has been on 2 years with no problems.

I've used/use the K-Edge on 4 different bikes with no problems. But, since I'm a "belt and suspenders" guy, I always use the 1030's lanyard around my handlebars for some extra peace of mind.
