Edge 1030 won't connect tot nu new Oneplus 8 pro

Today I bought my new phone.

Ik bought the OnePlus 8 pro and wanted to connect my edge 1030 to my new phone with Garmin Connect. But the connections fails every time.

I did a clean install of the edge and a clean install off the phone.

But every time it fails. It worked fine on my OnePlus 7pro.

What can I do?

  • Dear OnePlus, yesterday I bought the OnePlus 8 pro.

    I had the OnePlus 7 pro what worked fine with my Garmin Edge 1030 bicycle computer. But now the OnePlus 8 pro won't install the edge Though Bluetooth.

    After the connection the installation stops.

    The pairing proces off the edge is different from other devices because it must be paired trough the Garmin Connect app and not through the Bluetooth menu. I think the OnePlus 8 pro doesn't permission that and pairs first trough the phone Bluetooth .

    I have the exact same issue... I just moved from a OnePlus 7 pro to a OnePus 8 pro and I'm unable to establish the connection with Garmin Connect... I tried everything, turning both device off, remove everything for bluetooth settings, clear data/cache...

    When in paring mode I can see the PIN number on both devices, I accept then it starts to configure the Edge1030 and it get stuck after a while.

    It was working fine with the OnePlus 7 pro.

    Both my devices are on the latest stable release (9.10 for Garmin and 10 for Android (Oxygen OS 10.5.5)).

    I hope a solution will come soon...

    Hi, I'm facing the same issue.

    I'm trying to configure my Garmin Edge 1030 with my new Oneplus 8 phone in the Garmin Connect App but it fails always at the moment that the progress bar in the app is at around 30%. Note that the Edge was successfully configured and connected with my previous phone (Oneplus 3T). I also have a Vivoactive 3 and this device is added and configured in Garmin Connect App on my Oneplus 8 without any problem. After reading your FAQ and forum pages I tried many things like deleting all configurations (BT and devices) on both devices, reboot and also a hard reset of both devices, etc.... Nothing helps.

    I have the Same Problem With my new Oneplus 8 Pro. With my old one it works fine.

    My Garmin support ticket is under investigation and I submitted extra logs for this yesterday.

  • I had the same problem.
    I uninstalled Connect and installed an older version (4.22). So the connection works without any problems
  • I had the same troubles and resetting the BT interface on the phone helped.

    EDIT: works with 4.30.
