Make sure it has a full charge. What type of screen are you seeing? There are a few types of "resets," such as holding down the power button for at least 10 seconds. If you don't press it long enough, it will go to sleep. Resetting the Device
Hello
thank you for your reply.
the Garmin 1030 is well charged.
I tried handling the reset by pressing the power button for 10 seconds.
the screen remains on the garmin logo with the 3 small dots which blink endlessly and impossible to turn off the gps, this always reboots.
Try connecting your Garmin in mass storage mode to your computer so you can view the "Garmin" folder. On the 1030 you'd hold down the lap button while plugging in the USB cable to the device. On your computer go to D:\GARMIN\NEWFILES and delete anything within the NEWFILES folder. Eject your device, then restart it.

Hello
after connecting my garmin to the computer, the garmin is not recognized by the computer
I suggest contacting Garmin Support via phone, chat, or email - Garmin Support Center
I did a master reset and it's ok the gps to restart
Turn off the GPS Hold down the 2 buttons on the front panel ("Tour / Reset" and "Start / Stop") Turn on the GPS while continuing to hold down the 2 buttons Continue to hold down the 2 buttons when the "Garmin" screenappears Release the 2 buttons when the "Garmin" screen disappears
