Screen Colors Washed out?

Hi guys,

Just got a 1030 as a gift and everything is looking good so far but there is one thing I noticed, the colors look washed out compared to my old Edge 1000.  Is that normal or did I get a bad unit?

Thank you all !

  • Yes they are less brilliant with the B&W being less bright as well.  There’s a FB Edge 1030 page, I and another user have posted side-by-side screen shots that show this.

That said, I used the 1000 for about 2-1/2 years before getting the 1030, which I’ve used about a year.  The difference in color and B&W is (to me) completely a moot point when in use.  FWIW, the reason seems to be a different screen design that helps maximize battery life.

I remember being less than impressed with my 1030 screen as well. Then I took it out into full sun and was more satisfied. I went back to my 810 and found that the 1030 was way better than I thought.  I also found some software to modify an OSM and was even more satisfied with the colours and contrast

  • Edge 1030 display is very washed out indoor, but is excellent outdoor - especially in bright sunlight:

  • Thank you all for the reply and yes and took it outside and WOW looks amazing :) Thank you all :)

  • I have oakley prizm range sunglasses. They're kind of orangey pink in color. The colors pop much more with the glasses on. Like a lot
