Setting change needed for IOS 12 to display texts etc

I finally figured out why I could supposedly pair my 1030 to my iPhone X but not see messages. This is probably old news to most, but under Notifications in IOS 12, the default for "Show Previews" changed from prior versions. You need to change it to "Always." And voila, texts show up!

I have a feeling everyone knows this but me...

Um, yeah, I should have said IOS 13. But sounds like that isn't the issue for you either.

This wasn't an issue for me on iOS 12. Mine is setup correctly, but with iOS 13 I no longer get phone call/message notifications on my Garmin.

The Garmin Connect app has had all kinds of issues ever since iOS13 came out, but it seems they correct something with each update. There was another one today, so I'll see if it corrects the message problem on my next ride.
