Navigation issues garmin 1030

Hi!

i bought my first bike navigation, the garmin 1030, last week.

i could navigate to an adress or saved courses and use the surprise me function, but after a while i noticed i had 7.40 software so I updated the 1030 with the latest 7.50.

After the update, i can’t navigate anymore.. surprise me function neither.

i always get the notification “route calculation error, maps do not have navigable roads in this area“

i re installed the maps, reset the device.. not worked so far.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?

i didn’t pay this much money to have issues.

make sure all maps are enabled

You should see lots of detail (such as minor road) if you zoom in on the map page.

It’s possible that the detailed maps are not enable.

Your issue isn’t a common one.

No detail at all.

all of the maps are enabled.

1) INTL standard basemap, NR

2) Garmin cycle map EU, North East, 2019.10

3) Garmin DEM map EU, 2017.20

4) Garmin Geocode Map EU, 2019.10

I think you should also have Garmin cycle map EU, South West, 2019.10

By the looks of it you are missing some of the EU maps that cover your area. You should be able to re-install them.

I’ve done a reset twice, and have them re installed too.. still the same issue

Didn't installing them with Garmin Express Mac version had an issue?

It seems the basemap isn't even being displayed. You might try zooming out to see if anything comes up.

I'm assuming the unit has located you properly.

The " INTL standard basemap, NR" and "Garmin cycle map EU, North East, 2019.10" are the maps that have stuff you can see. The basemap has less data (major roads, major cities, borders). The "cycle map" is the detailed map.

(The DEM map has elevation data and the Geocode map has addresses for lookup.)

Are you using Mac or Windows?
