WiFi set up on the Edge 1030 and details for WiFi networks are listed below:
•Wi-Fi can be enabled by connecting to Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express.
•Once enabled, Wi-Fi networks can be added on the device directly or in Garmin Express.
•While enabled, Wi-Fi will actively function unless an activity is being recorded, and will periodically wake up from sleep mode into a low-power state to allow Wi-Fi to quickly do work if possible before going back to sleep.
•The Wi-Fi feature allows the Edge to quickly upload activities, to download courses, workouts, segments, and other Garmin Connect data, to download device and sensor software updates, and to download EPO files to speed up GPS acquisition time.
•The Edge 1030 is not able to connect to Wi-Fi networks that require internet access to accept terms.
•The Edge 1030 cannot connect to 5 GHz access points, only 2.4 GHz, and only supports 802.11a, 802.11b/g, but not 802.11n.
