How do I go back a version of software (v5.0 to v4.x)?

Hi,
as my 1030 is now not pairing with my phone (iphone 6) since I downloaded v5.0, I want to go back to the previous software version that seemed to work fine. How do I do that? Please talk me through it gently........

Thanks

Personally, I had more issues with v4.0 than with 3.90. I think 5.00 is back to where 3.90 was in terms of phone connectivity.
Having said that, I do get a problem from time to time pairing, so "the fix" for me is to wipe my phone from the 1030, delete the 1030 from the bluetooth settings of the iphone, and then re-pair. Do that, and you'll get a few days/weeks/months before having to repeat that process.

If you really want to downgrade, there was a post here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into...r-4-01-to-3-90 which includes what to backup first. That post was about going from 4.00 back to 3.90, but the process is the same. There's a link there to source the 3.90 firmware, and that also contains 4.00 and plenty of the betas too.
Going from 4.00 back to 3.90 wiped all the settings, and I would imagine going from 5.00 back to 4.00 would do the same. So if you want to preserve your odometers, data screens, etc, have a look at that post.
Warning, on the second page of that post, there is a discuss where they wipe everything. That is going a bit far IMO, so you probably don't want to do that.
