Dull screen

i have a new 1030. Had loads of Garmin and I am upgrading from an 820.

When end I set them both to 100% brightness and turn off battery save functions the 820 is far brighter.

Is this just just the way the 1030 is or do I have a dud unit?

I am wondering if the battery life is achieved by limiting screen brightness.

You will not get the indicated battery life if you run the unit a 100% I run mine at 10% with a 30 second timeout. The color on my 820 is better than the 1030 indoors but you really need to compare them outdoors in the sunlight.

I understand that, what I’m asking is when both set to 100% the screen on the 1030 seems dull compared to the 820.

When comparing the two at 100% my 820 is brighter.

thanks for the link. Seems the issue is understoood.

I was wondering if I had a dud unit.

Nope, after using the Edge 1030 outdoors my 820 has sat idle, I was more worried about the size....not anymore :)

it does look huge but I figure I will get used to it.
