I gave up and sold my 820 (at software version 7.00) because, among other things, its display of my current gradient was terribly slow and inaccurate (talking about gradient, not elevation). I'm happy with how the function performs on my Edge Explore 1000, but, because I'm always considering the latest and greatest (even at the risk of being a beta tester), was wondering how folks are finding the gradient accuracy and lag (or lack thereof) on the 1030.
I have reported the gradient issues mentioned here to our engineering team for investigation. I will report a status update once I have additional info.
I have a new 1030 updated with firmware 3.20 and I have the same grade calculation issue. The number is way below the real grade. When I went up a steep climb yesterday it read 6% while my wife was getting ?20% on her edge 1000 (used to be mine!). Definitely an issue with Grade calculation. I use metric units i.e. meters and kilo-meters.
i'm in the same conditions, my 1030 don't write gradiente over 8%. i test it in a way that i know the gradient is 13% and when my friend with 820 read 13% i read 8%. i have a lot of other problems too:(

Shawn, Any news on this? I have a brand new 1030 and it's gradient accuracy is way off - registering 3% on climbs that are 6%+ etc Its been over 2 months and if there is no fix coming I'm returning it - this shouldn't be a problem given it works fine on my old 810 etc Thanks
