You typically wouldn't open a .tcx file directly, unless you have something like bacecamp. What is it you're trying to do? Where did you get this file? If you're trying to import as a course, go here https://connect.garmin.com/modern/courses , then click "import."
Thank you. I usually get the ridewithgps link from my local club. In the past, I would open the link and save the .tcx file for my Garmin and then transfer to Garmin New Files for upload. It used to work until recently. I have tried all the ridewithgps recommendations with no luck. I wasn't sure if this is an error with Windows 10.
Can you zip the file and attach it to this thread? We might be able to see if there is a problem with it.
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33281519. This is the link for the ride. I can open it and see the route. I get the error when I try to save it on my lap top. I was able to link my Garmin 1000 to Ridewithgps and downloaded the ride with success.
I get the error when I try to save it on my lap top.
That's strange. You shouldn't get an error just by downloading it. That looks like the type of error you'd get by trying to open it. At any rate, I was able to download it and save it as a course.
This message comes from the browser trying to open the file.
You, somehow, told the browser to open the file automatically (rather than just download it).
To make things work again, you need to change a setting in the browser.
What browser are you using?

Alternatively, you could use my $2 program to make that easier to do (the program has a generous trial period).
