Any major issues with Garmin's new magnet less speed/cadence sensors?

I just ordered a set of magnet less speed/cadence sensors to mount on my bike and use with my Garmin 800.

Have any of you experienced any major issues (or any issues) with the new sensors?

Let me know what your experiences have been.

I have thought about that, but my front hub is very small and the rubber band is too long. The sensor flaps about. I could cable tie it on I guess.

The problem might be that there's just too much stuff in between the sensor and the head unit so that the signal is being cut off. Moving it to the front might help. You will need to secure the sensor, because it needs to rotate with the hub in order for it to work right.

I think you were right. I put it on the front and its so much better now. Thanks for the suggestion. I've cable tied it on so it is secure.

Are you manually setting the wheel size or letting the Edge compute it automatically?

How can this be done?

It may depend on your head unit but in general go to Bike Settings - Bike Profiles - current bike - Bike Details.

If the unit supports bike profile then it as a setting under the bike profiles. If the unit has a pool of sensors (no bike profiles) then it is under the details for the sensor.

Not all units allow this to be manually set.

In my Edge 1000 with the no-magnet sensor, I guess I've to go to the bike, connect to the sensor and then look in the details of the sensor. Will try, last sunday my Garmin told me 19,20 km when the rest of the group did 20,20 km...

That is the correct process for the Edge 1000.

The default auto-calibrate setting is accurate and shouldn't result in that big of an error. There may be some other issue with the sensor. Seeing the FIT file would be helpful if you want to post it. The exception is mountain biking with a lot of switchbacks where the auto-calibrate may not be reliable.
