  • RE: Meters for Track and Miles for Runs?

I was wondering myself if my watch was rounding distance during workouts. For example, I setup some 200m intervals on my phone but on my watch it shows as .12 miles which is a bit short of an actual 200m. Thought maybe it just displayed to 2 decimals…

Short question about DozenSwim. Used it the first time in the pool and got weird distance because of GPS. Is it recommended to turn off GPS while swimming in a pool? Does it count the laps while GPS is off? BR and thx for the great DataFields!

I'm pretty sure it's not a general bug. I did a short pool swim yesterday and it counted 200 calories. All my other pool swims have a calorie count.

In your activity is the length count and distance correct?

It would be much more successful to try longer strava segments. The one you have used for a 500 meter test is too short to analyze the differences. must be checked in segments where the distances are greater and so you can see clearly the evolution of…

And how do you calibrate it?

By the looks of it manual calibration by distance is not an option anymore on latest garmin watches. Too bad. In that case the best way to proceed would be to enable auto-calibration temporarily, run a known distance…

Auto Lap by distance is a feature that existed in the  really old 300 EDGE. You could give a defined distance when the unit would trigger a lap. Extremely useful to get Lap Power on short time period (1km) specially when racing. I "upgraded" to EDGE130…

Sorry, just realized now, that you mentioned "length" not "distance".

Yes, the distance alters after the turn. I don't know exactly how fast after the turn, because if I look at the watch, I look always just before the turn.

    I…

    Hi All.

I'm still on my F3 and was considering going to the F5.
I'm sick of the F3 short changing me on distances, usually every Saturday morning I do a Park run.
These are set to 5KM, and are timed events. All the time my F3 has me from 100…

I think the distance reported by the F5+ is totally acceptable, because - as others have pointed out - 21.095 km will be the absolute shortest distance you can run without leaving the course and because random GPS error will usually cause a slight increase…
