I know this is an old thread but I am having the same issue with my Vivoactive 4.
battery was needed charged more often recently, once it was fully charged put it on and the screen would not light up .
plugged it back in and the watch functions but will…
I have my Garmin Venu 2 plus since Sunday and battery seems to be not as good as I expected (I expected at least 7 days without charging) - I already charged it to 100%, during night I 'lost' 6%, it seems to be quite a lot... I also have 17.04 software…
My last charge got me 49 hours 
I have raised with Garmin via their support so hopefully something will be done about it....
Garmin just updated me on the issue and said my scale needs to be replaced. My issue no Wi-Fi after upgrade same as posted here.

I bought the Vivomove trend for my wife a few months ago and it has needed to be charged nightly since day one.
This just started with mine yesterday. Charged to 100% at 3pm, down to 55% at 6am the following morning. No activities, GPS, etc.
Meanwhile the watch is charging it shows 100% however when I disconnect it, it turns off and I cant turn on it again
I had a Fitbit Charge 5 before buying the Venu2plus and have been wearing both devices for some night. Results were pretty comparable.
I'm using version 15.5, during the night my Garmin turned off, this morning when I didn't see that it was turning on I connected the device to the charging cable and it started to charge, it was completely discharged, it's the first time this has happened…
Same issue. Fully charged this morning. No activities today and notifications only set to whatsapp, and screen brightness at 20% - battery now at 24%!!!
