Gesture Backlight

Hi I own a MARQ aviator and the gesture backlight was working fine but now suddenly it stopped working. When you press a button or receive a notification the backlight is ok. I have tried turning off sleep mode and do not disturb but with no luck any suggestions?

After experimenting with the settings i have noticed that if you set both non activities and during activities to 100% backlight 15 second duration and gesture to always on works every time with no problem…

Just a further thought to add in, if it's going off after a while and even after a Master Reset, it would be worth checking the device settings…

Hey,

Try a hard reset by holding the power button till watch turns off completely and see if that helps. If not then try a factory default .

I recall I saw someone here in the forum that had a similar issue with the backlight but I dont recall if there was a solution.

I have tried it but it works for a while and then it stops again. Is this a software bug or a hardware issue? Should I return the watch?

Please do reach out to the Support teams since this would be something we would want to look into but need to talk to you to make sure we are doing the same thing as you to try to reproduce it.

What setttings do you have for your backlight gesture? Might be worth checking those settings are in-line with your expectations?

Good spot. Make sure you feed that back to Garmin support. As you've noted, if the gesture does work then chances are it's a software issue.

Just a further thought to add in, if it's going off after a while and even after a Master Reset, it would be worth checking the device settings in the Garmin Connect website and Garmin Connect Mobile app. Spurious device settings in Garmin Connect can sometimes overwrite those you have set up on the watch; it's just one of those occasional 'quirks' with the Garmin ecosystem, but does fix it'self once you update the settings in Garmin Connect. Worth a check anyway.

The backlight option isn’t there in the general tab.

Interesting doesn't look like it's a Mac v Windows thing as it's not there on my iMac running Safari or Windows Virtual Machine running Microsoft Edge.

What browser Crispin_Ellisdon?
