Why no boat data/autopilot/GNT10 app support for MARQs?

Longtime Fenix fan, recently splashed out and upgraded my Fenix 5 to a MARQ Expedition.

I sail occasionally and had the "Boat Data", "Autopilot" and "GNT10" apps on my Fenix 5. I can't install them on my MARQ, and I see in the app store that all three apps have support for the MARQ Captain only.

Why is this? The radios are present; there's no issue with hardware compatibility. Will the other MARQs be supported in future? Are Garmin deliberately limiting functionality because only one model is MARQueted to sailors?

Paying five times more for a watch with deliberately crippled functionality makes me feel like a chump. It's a beautiful watch, but the whole reason I like Garmin is that I believe in functionality first and foremost, and form as a bonus. Seriously considering returning the MARQ if it makes me sacrifice functionality for form.

I know, an old thread.

I sail. A LOT. And I would not trade my Quatix 6 for a MARQ Captain. Nope. Love the ceramic bezel, but lesser functionality, smaller screen, older hardware and the cost make it a laugher. It's like a solid gold Gen 1 Apple Watch.
