  • Guys, come on! No wifi folder in the .rar file at all. Some may brick their devices because there is a file missing..

"Place the gupXXXX.gcd file, found in the WiFi_v*** folder, into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device"
  • I guess what would be useful is for the notes above to confirm what version all of the component software should be on after update. It may be that the WiFi one isn’t necessary, which could be easily checked by visiting the About section of the settings on the watch, if the versions were listed. It wouldn’t be the first time that the instructions for a beta install didn’t match the file or that a component wasn’t actually needed.
  • Hi NYanakiev7 - there is no Wifi update at this time. The installation instructions will remain the same throughout all the MARQ betas, so I wrote them to include instructions for Wifi for any time that we do have an update available in the future. I apologize for the confusion.

    Thanks,
    Mel

  • Confused..woke up this morning and the watch notified me that a software update to 3.31 was carried out overnight. What's confusing is that 3. 31 is beta firmware requiring a specific update procedure
  • If you had copied the files on to your watch, but not selected to install after unplugging, it will still install the software at midnight unless you turn the auto-update off in the settings.
  • That's why it's weird--I made sure that the files were deleted prior to unplugging.
  • Are you using a Mac to manipulate the files on the MARQ? I've heard of a couple of instances with people using the Android Explorer thingy on a Mac (you can probably tell that I don't have a Mac) and thinking they had deleted a file, but it was actually still there. Apparently you have to make sure it's removed from the recycle bin (or something similar) on the Android Explorer whatsit to actually remove the file from the watch.
  • Nope don't own a Mac. I realised that every single one of my runs since I got the MARQ Expedition has this issue.

I have now emailed Garmin for guidance on this as I'm using a brand new Garmin HRM-Run.
  • is there a reason why the link is 404 ;-) ... can you reup? thank you

  • Yup, all the links I tried using are incorrect.
