Update to 8.70 From 9.02 Public Beta Does Not Work

It does not work.

I just went through the update process from 9.02 to 8.70 on Garmin Express, but when I safely disconnected the watch, there was no update - software remained at 9.02.

All the syncing and software download, including the ACCEPT screen, appeared to proceed without problem, but no software update was applied to the watch.

Even after a "soft reset" (holding the CTRL button until the watch shuts off and then restarting) there was no update.

So, even after going through the whole download dance with Garmin Express, no update.

Any suggestions, Garmin-Enrique?

I forced the change by downgrading to 7.20 and then I upgraded to 8.70 . But downgrade means reset of all settings, and 8.70 has no new features or bug fixes. So I suppose this is only for people who do…

Thanks for the feedback.

I wound up doing the same thing. At least my OCD is satisfied by having all the version numbers match, and it was probably time to baseline all the software with a reset anyway.
