This device is not at all user friendly

I just traded my Venu for this. I cannot get my apps set. Actually, I can't do anything, even start an activity. I am so sorry I bought this. I even think it is probably working as it should, it is so completely counterintuitive. I should be out hiking now, but I am here to try to set this up, and I swear I am about to take a hammer to it.

    It's very simple and intuitive. You do not write what you are doing, but select the activity via the GPS button and then either run it or set it.

     Not sure what you call user-friendly, but generally if it can't be figured out without reading the manual, it isn't. The interface is awkward to use, even after you learn how. It takes a long time to customize anything. And I have discovered I can't add steps to activities. The option isn't there on this watch. This watch is not up to previous Garmin standards.

    there's nothing which is more simply to understand than to tinker furniture from IKEA - but if you think you can do it without reading the manual you will get lost. That's why there is a manual. Not reading it and complaining isn't a lack of user-friendlyness, it's a lack of cleverness

    If what you say were true then I would need the manual for everything and I don't usually need it, especially  electronics. IMO, requiring a manual to operate a device shows either shows more a lack of ability to figure things out for oneself by the person operating the device or a very bad design by the producer of the product. Also, as I use this device, I am finding out just how inferior this device is compared to the other Garmin watches I have had. Not only can I not add steps to activity, which caused me to have to deactivate MyFitness pal as the Garmin it now reported 0 steps for activities. The pulse OX function worked automatically on the VENU but only works during sleep or if I start it manually on the Solar Instinct making the function totally useless as I am not going to stop and check it myself and I don't wear a watch during sleep and have no reason to need to know what that value is while I am sleeping. Currently, wondering what else on this watch is
