Freezing and random rebooting - not during activity

My Instinct Solar suddenly started freezing. I then reboot it (hold light button for 15secs to switch off and then turn on again).

It starts up fine but after about 10secs it reboots. turns on again and reboots again after 10 secs.....constantly.

If i go into my activity tracking while its on, it works perfectly, tracks my activity fine, doesn't reboot during tracking.

The moment i finish my activity and go back to the normal watch face (home screen), its starts rebooting again at regular intervals.

I've tried resetting to default settings and that doesn't help.

I'm running 14.10 software on my instinct.

Even though you will lose your settings, have you tried downgrading to the previous firmware (13.20, I believe)? You should have the file with you, from when you downloaded the 14.10 beta. I know that this is simply rattling the cage, but sometimes it works.

Thanks PMO. I've seen that as a possible solution on the forum. I'm trying to locate the 13.20 firmware file, where would I find it?
I've found the step for step method to downgrade the firmware but just need the actual file now.

The link for download of the 14.10 beta (at the top of the forum) points to a zip file that not only contains the said 14.10 beta, but also a directory named System_Backdate_1320, where the gupdate.gcd file for the previous public version (13.20) can be found. Just place that file in the \GARMIN folder of the watch, and the downgrade will start when you disconnect the watch from the computer.

Let's hope it does the trick. If it does, then you may upgrade again to the 14.10 beta, if you want, because that version seems to be stable and 13,20 has a few bugs that have been corrected along the road to 14.10.
