True north vs Magnetic north (compass)

I found that when I set true north in direction I expect to be marked as N the E is displayed, for magnetic north the directions are displayed properly. In living in Poland in Łódź so the true north is quite similar to magnetic one.
Software version 12.85.
After installation I did full reset - it solves fast battery drain.
Of course I have calibrated the compass few times.

This has nothing to do with magnetic north. It's a bug in the beta software. Please fix it.

Got instinct solar version 13.00 which is beta and without magnetic north it is off 90 deg. Raised issue with Garmin support today.

This has nothing to do with magnetic north. It's a bug in the beta software. Please fix it.

I do not think so. I have the v12.85 on my Instinct, and the compass shows correctly the North where the North is, and displaying N 000° (not E as in the OP)

I have to correct myself: Magnetic north is right, but true north doesn't works and is always 90° off, even if I do a one-shot GPS acquisition. I'm at 13.20 now, the problem persists.

I´m on 13.81 public beta and observe the 90° offest btw true and magnetic aswell. Even after successfull calibration.

Garmin support could not simulate the issue on their devices hence asked me for evidence video...

I am upgrading to 13.81 instead.

There the problem persists - at least in my watch!

Which is really annoying, because I use the watch at work -.-

Did you already reach out to your regional Outdoor Product Support as Garmin - Chris suggested in the first reply to the OP? What did they tell you?

I could not reply in other post I was reporting on True North issue so had no choice but to continue in here.

Just to remind:

My Instinct Solar was on firmware 12.20, then 13.00, 13.30 - performed master resets, calibrations - no luck as True North was still off approximately 90 deg from Magnetic North (just to be double sure checked with my phone compass as well).

Thanks to posts on this forum I've opened the case with Garmin Support, exchanged couple of emails and calls, sent back my watch to Garmin.

Few days after I got replacement watch with firmware 7.7 (yes, I am sure).

Configured it with my Connect... Holding ABC, calibration, checking True vs. Magnetic - same issue... still the offset...

Ok, then let's get back to basics - firmware update to 14.10 www8.garmin.com/.../download_details.jsp

Changes made from version 14.00 to 14.10:

Fixed potential compass performance issue.

Now I am on 14.10, offset is gone but I feel guilty - was it the watch or was it the firmware... Judge (or not) for yourself.

I have to say, I am happy Garmin customer now.
