Will the rucking activity, that was introduced with the Tactix 8 Series, be available on Fenix 7 devices?
To be honest, I doubt we will see anything new added in terms of activities or functionalities, apart from bug fixing for 7 series from now on.
Desperate for this also. Being brand new to Garmin having just purchased a Fenix 7 Pro, I’m getting a very sour taste over the lack of updates for the 7 Pro. If I’d have known, I would have purchased it…
I am also interested in that addition
Hope we can get it on our Fenix 7
It would be a great feature for new parents too.
Often carrying a baby, being able to add the weight during walks would be nice.
Even like a babywalk (custom) activity, but maybe that is Connect IQ territory for now
I am dumbfounded, like many, that the rucking feature wasn't brought to the F7. Wonder if it has to do with the software rewrite they did?
Edit: the workaround mentioned works, for now. At the same time it raises more questions too, because it is possible then in connect, for all models, just they choose not to?
Selling me a $800 watch, want me to buy a $8 monthly Connect+ subscription and then cheese me out of a small weight option to an activity? Come on Garmin, I can understand some major changes being new models only, but this is minor stuff that retains customers and want to buy the next model
Build a watch like a tank, but obsolete the software in less than 2 years. You know the outdoor crowd likes to be sustainable? Then stop making throwaway Fenixes please, to motivate to buy new ones.
Keep your eye out on the next Beta for the Fenix 7....that will tell the tale.
I asked for "pack weight" on trail running and hiking activities over two years back. It's such a simple calculation for Vo2, yet here we are with this recommendation being implemented on a new model and not shipped to the people who were giving the product ideas a couple of years ago. Makes me pretty sad.
In the mean time the workaround will just be to stand on the scales with the pack on prior to a run and use that fake weight to calculate the Vo2 Max. Step back on the scales again following the run.
