automatic nap detection

With the latest firmware I just had decent nap with fenix 7x pro watch on my wrist.

No nap was detected.

Is the nap automatically detected without any user action required or it only tracks when started with the widget?

this article https://www.garmin.com/en-US/garmin-technology/health-science/nap-detection/ and some other places mention "nap detection" so I am wondering if it is auto detected.

Funny to read that some people here get false naps recorded. I have the opposite problem. New F7S Pro and I start every nap manually through the Naps glance widget. I push "Start nap", refuse the timer, and it says "Enjoy your nap" and switches to the sleep watch face. I actually fall asleep for 20-30 minutes, yet, when I wake up, I push the start/stop button, the watch face changes back to normal and ... no nap registered.

I've had the watch for about 10 days now, nap every day, the watch even registers a "restful period" recharging my body battery at exactly the time of my manually activated nap:

Screenshot of Garmin Connect showing restful period, but no nap

... but no nap. Am I doing something wrong?

I noticed the recent blog post https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/fitness/does-your-garmin-smartwatch-tracks-naps-heres-how-it-works/ mentions only the F8 explicitly as compatible, but also says "and more". This page says the F7 Pro is compatible with advanced sleep tracking: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=qvzNMwxuTb9NxZ6Ce2a9z9 So it should work, right? Why doesn't it?
