Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar - Poor Battery life after 8.37

OK so I've read that a previous version 8.35 I think was held back for battery life issues.  I got my watch about 2-2.5 weeks ago and it's been going great.  There was one firmware update in that time that was no problem.  I had 12 days of battery left on my watch at the time 8.37 was installed and the next day the watch was telling me 6 days.

So this thread I started because I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.

No I didn't change anything on the watch and no I don't use watch faces with extra data requirements.

I will wait and see anyway, how many days it goes back to once I have to charge it again in 6 days or so.

Hopefully it's all just a weird co-incidence.

  • My battery isn’t around 12 days it’s around 28days normally. I lost 12 of those days over the last 7 days. I.e I have 16 days left according to the display. Which probably means I have an actual 8 or so days left in reality. The remaining time is being reported on the screen incorrectly.

  • I came here a few days ago to tell you all the same. For some reason I can't reply to some of you in person so ill type it here. But (7X) after a update my battery went down like mad and it was updating HR every second on the front panel. I thought that was the issue (and it still might be) but after restarting my watch, it is now back to what it was before. I don't notice anything different really even tho it is still updating HR every second on front panel.

So, restart watch after update. Maybe that helps for you as well.

  • I have already restarted the watch a few times.  Actually a few times it restarted itself, not only as part of the firmware update, but also because it crashed.  So unfortunately your suggestion does not fix the issue.  Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Battery life used to be amazing before 8.37 update. I would say it is now half of what I used to get.

Changed watch face without HR and restarting the watch doesn't really help...

Same issue! The battery  drops from 100% to 40% in 3 days with no more than 1h workout.

  • Wow and I thought mine was bad (from 3,7%/day to 8,4%/day)

  • My battery life is still amazing with 8.37.

  • Following up on the issue, I have decided to hard reset the watch : System => Reset => Delete Data and Reset Settings

I'm happy to report that battery consumption is now back to normal, about 3% per day.

Reset doesn't work for my F7, still 1% per hour!

  • Sigh! The same with me. It eats 20% per 24hours without any activity, around 1% per hour. I have done 2 times of reset (one reset with preserving data and music, and one total reset), but no improvement.
