Hello, doing a lot of elliptical trainer, I wanted to put a speed sensor to couple with the fenix 5. Unfortunately, the sensor, although seen and well connected, does not go back in the elliptical bike activity distance and speed. There is a trick to link a sensor to an activity? I did the same thing with my elliptical. I also installed a speed and cadence sensor. To get the speed and cadence data you need to use a "cycling" activity. I use "Indoor Cycling" and it includes the data. I just change the name after. BUT- if you change the activity type back to elliptical after recording a cycling activity you will lose the speed and cadence info again.
I assume the elliptical activity type is not designed to capture speed/cadence data like a cycling activity is.
thanks for these informations. We will conclude that the elliptical activity has never been finalized and therefore does not work contrary to what is announced by Garmin. :-(
