Hi!

i am a beginner triathlete and since I live in a snowy area I want to buy a spinning cycle to use indoors at home. I've been searching online to find a (cheap) brand of spinbikes that is verified compitable with fenix 5 and garmin connect so I don't have to manually enter my data after sessions. Also, I then could do a ftp/watt test!

i understand using garmin vector pedals and a bike mill would work, but I'm at a really amateur level and so find the price abit steep and cheap spinbikes show power.
  • Buy a less expensive turbo trainer and put your bike in that. I'd recommend a fluid flywheel trainer. Of course you could buy a Smart Trainer.
    Buy an ANT+ stick
Buy a copy ofPerfPro Studio. This will give you virtual power for a wide range of turbo trainers.

Thanks for your response. I found garmin also had a list over compatible ant+ trainers from elite and vacq. Those two brands were not the cheapest though.

I also belive I need a bike computer (like garmin edge brand) to get info from these bikes? It's a jungle of brands and different trainers ????

and do you mean to connect the ANT+ stick in the bike?
