Watch faces can't be deleted or removed

First post to the forums and absolutely LOVE my new fenix 5x and am a VERY long time Garmin user (my first GPS unit was a GPS III- all the way to a Delorme Explorer I have as well).

I'm a bit concerned as I can't delete watch faces I've loaded from Connect IQ. I did some searching and found some oldish threads and have tried multiple times with Garmin Express on the desktop as well as via Garmin Connect on my phone. I've done multiple reboots on all devices (computer, phone, watch) and done the process all over with no results.

I know some bugs are running around here and there as the icons on my phone have rearranged a couple times each time I try to reboot or get things done, so something is wonky. I've given the devices extra time to "digest" what I've asked prior to ejecting the watch from the computer or making changes via the phone- all to no avail.

All the threads I found have ended with no real results. Has anyone ever been able to fix this?

OK, I've come to realize that if I install via the phone, that is what causes the arrangement of the icons for faces to install. I installed all of the faces again and here is where the rabbit hole deepens:

- I have 7 faces in the phone application, and 9 actually on the watch (these are just the faces over and above the ones pre-loaded on the watch). So that is a bit of an issue.

- I then connected the watch to the desktop again and it showed all 9. Good. Then I removed all but 2 of those faces in Garmin Express. Now there are 4 faces left on the watch and still 7 on Garmin Connect.

I'll keep plugging away, but hopefully this will help someone... If you hadn't guess, I've got a bit of a background in software QA...

I GOT IT! Forgive me for basically answering my own thread, but I sincerely hope this helps someone else. I am completely smitten with this watch and hope it helps others as well.

So, I did it from the phone and went to Activities & App Management -> Manage Storage

From there I tried the Apple deal of swiping to delete. Sure enough the 2 faces that seemed lost somewhere appeared and I could delete them. I synced the watch and voila, they were gone from the watch.

Interestingly, they now show up in Garmin Connect on the phone under the choices of faces that can be installed or are installed. Good enough. I'll tackle trying to get them removed from Garmin Connect another time.

To remove Connect IQ related items out of the history section in Garmin Connect Mobile, you'll need to use Garmin Express. Within Express, browse the list of apps/watch faces/data fields/widgets, find the one you want gone, right click and there's an option to delete from list.

Plugged watch into computer, opened Garmin Express, click on watch, click on IQ Apps, select 'Watch Faces' from the drop down menu, RIGHT CLICK on uninstalled watch faces, click remove.

Done, awesome!

Thank you for the thread! My watch face looks to be broken and I can't uninstall it from the Connect App. I've installed Garmin Express on my laptop and when I click on "IQ Apps" it tells me action is required on the watch. But, the screen doesn't work to do any action.

Advice?
