Garmin Cycle Map Europe 2018.10

Question to Garmin Staff. After this update free space on my F5X dropped from almost 6gb to 1gb. Is it normal? Now there is no place for another maps, that I use. This files are still in my device (D4713060C.img and D6019000A.img) Are they required or just the temps that should be removed after succesful update?

I use only polish topo maps, so I have no idea if Cycle map has good data.

Glad it's not just me. It seems ridiculous that they've released a map update that doesn't fit on the device!

Spent the afternoon figuring out which files were what so I could offload some onto iCloud so the maps would update and all is now well.

Assuming each Garmin map uses the same numbers this is what related to each for me:

D4713060C - Garmin DEM Map EU 2017.20 (on iCloud)
D6019000A - Garmin Cycle Map EU, South West, 2018.10
Gmapsup1 - CourseView Medium SE Americas (on iCloud)
Gmapsup2 - CourseView Medium SE Europe, Middle East & Africa (on iCloud)
Gmapsup3 - CourseView Medium SE Pacific (on iCloud)
Gmaptz - nothing shows in Basecamp
Gmapbmap - nothing shows in Basecamp
Gmapprom - TopoActive Europe v4 West
D6184010A - TopoActive Europe v4 East (on iCloud)
Gmapcycle - Garmin Cycle Map EU, North East, 2018.10

Gmaptz - is the time zone map - defining global time zones including day light saving time

Uploading pictures seems broken but my watch shows 6.58GB of used space on the watch. The gmapcycle.img is the largest at 3.6 gig, followed by the gmapprom.img at 3.1 gig. I'm based in NA.

As somebody there is from Poland too - this might be useful - after some testing

gmapprom.img - TopoActive Europe v4 West
gmapprom1.img - TopoActive Europe v4 East

So have moved gmapprom.img - and associated unl, sum, gma - to HD, moved original gmapcycle and now have enough space. But well - Garmin - you are not making life easy for us…

Stachu, czy myslisz ze mozna bezproblemowo potem w razie czego wrzucic spowrotem te mapy na F5X i sie uaktualnia?

Is it possible to move back the moved maps and update them. License will not expire or something?

Absolutely - yes. As long as *.unl file is included (as well as other files!) - where a valid unlock key is included

Z mojego do?wiadczenia, bezproblemowo, najwa?niejsze to zachowa? w bezpiecznym miejscu wszystkie pliki - przede wszystkim *.unl który zawiera licencj?.
Podczas testowania przenosi?em mapy na dysk a potem do zegarka - wszystko dzia?a?o.

How can I update to 2018.10? When connecting the 5x to Garmin Express all maps are shown except OPEN CYCLE MAP!?!?! 16.2 can be found on watch directly but it is not listed on Garmin Express!?!?!
