Fenix 5S Sapphire black

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can buy the F5S Sapphire black edition in the UK? I can't find any online site currently selling it. Cotswold Outdoor website is saying mid April? Also it doesn't appear to be listed on Amazon for pre-order.

I made the preorder on 26th Jan for F5S sapphire at Corswold. Talked with them a few times. They are still not sure when to expect them, but it should be earlier than mid-April.

I would say your better to avoid the bigger shop, lots of companies like snow & rock etc starting to list them but only as pre order,

Companies like upandrunning i would say going to be more likely to get a shipment of 'a few' and get them out as they become available,

this is what happened with the 5 and i'm hoping we will see more variants & the 5s this week or next,

Picked my Fenix 5 Black Sapphire up from Up and Running in Leeds shop on Saturday. Its awesome. Love the Yellow band too. Already did a 10 mile run with it yesterday. Love it.

Depends on how keen you are as a runner. I think the size/weight of the F5 and certainly F5X would make it unsuitable for racing. I wouldn't want a bulky, heavy lump of metal on my wrist when racing a 10k. The 5S, however, is the same size as the Forerunner 630 and 735XT but slightly heavier at 67g vs 40/44g for the 630/735XT. I wouldn't want anything heavier for racing - the 5S feels like a nice compromise. The build quality is certainly very nice though :)

Does anyone have any idea when the watch will be available o order from the Garmin online store?

While I'm planning on going with the 5s racing with the 5 or 5x wouldn't be a problem.. I've done a 50k and a marathon in the last month with an F3 and didn't have any issues.

Now granted you would want to have done some training with it first as it took me a good month the adjust to the Fenix after using FR2xx series watches the last several years.

The 5 seems readily available from Cotswold, Amazon and some local running shops - I have a 5s on pre-order with them, let's hope a decent batch turns up there soon!!
