I think it will be good to have one central place to have the latest news people here about the updated release date. DCR said it looks like early March. The garmin site says 5-8 weeks but thats the default time on all new products. Everywhere I read it says "By end of Q1" which is the end of March. Rei still doesnt have it listed yet either. Has anyone heard anything more specific?
Next Garmin watch I want I have decided to wait till the stores have hem in stock, seems to work better. Cause preordering only guarantees a late delivery.
Silver/Granite totally missing from the world. I doubt Clever Training will be able to produce the end of March promise they put on those. Really want to see this beast in the wild. B&H seemed to be honest with that one from the start saying mid April.
Just got a notice my Fenix 5S Sapphire Black is on its way. Ordered at an outdoor retailer (Bever) in the Netherlands on 28 feb.
Luxury problem; will be delivered at my job tomorrow, while a took the day off to enjoy the nice weather on the bike... Guess I'm making a short visit at the office on my day off ;)
Has anyone seen the 5S Sapphire Champagne in the wild yet? I prerecord from Clever Training on 1/16 and was just wondering if anyone has received one from anywhere yet? Hopefully soon!
Noticed on the official Garmin product pages for the f5S Sapphires (champagne w/ gray suede band and champagne with metal band) the estimated availability time frame was upped from 3-5 weeks to 5-8 weeks. The black with black band is still showing 3-5 weeks.
Speculating what that could mean. My guess is the demand for those two models is higher than they anticipated.
Well Clever Training in the US just said a small shipment of Fenix 5 models (I assume meaning all of them 5/5S/5X) are arriving Friday and I hope contained within is the first signs of the 5S Sapphire in the USA. Its frustrating seeing folks in Europe who ordered 2/28 getting the 5S sapphire black delivered while our early January orders remain missing in action. Happy for others but Garmin launches *stink* and now with today's launch AND simulateous shipment of the 935 it is just salt in the wound of those of us who ordered $700 watches 3 months ago. First world problems I know but...
I don't know how many are available in Australia, but I received my Fenix 5 today and I am a very happy camper. I only wish the leather band was released at the same time. But oh well, after being told I was going to get my watch in May, I'm pretty happy with the turn of events.
