FEATURE REQUEST. Enable Auto pause for when stopped for xx seconds

I use my Fenix for mostly slower activities such as Walking and Hiking. When I have my Fenix set to auto pause when stopped it will randomly pause along my route for a few seconds when I am not stopped then resume again. I would really like to see an option to be able to select When stopped for say 30 seconds this would help eliminate the false positives that I am getting right now. I am not sure what is causing the issue, I would think that the Gyro in it wold be able to determine movement but clearly it doesn't.

So my feature request would be to add number of seconds stopped for rather than just when stopped.

I had the same experience, I turned the feature on but it stopped again 10 seconds after I started walking. As it is now, it is a useless feature for walking / hiking. Your solution would be great.
  • i use running app pro, this is implemented in there sotware
use this software 2 years now , is complete don't miss anything
  • My guess is that it's losing a good connection to the satellites. It's for that reason I stopped using auto pause some years back.
  • People have been requesting auto pause in my walking/hiking apps since they came out, but I tell you, it's really hard to do and to do right. (I still haven't added it, just looked at the variables). With running/cycling, it's easier, in that you can just do a "when speed drops below X, auto pause", as the speed difference is great enough. But with walking/hiking, the speed difference can actually be slight based on where/what you are hiking. And if it's based on GPS data, if you watch the lat/lon GPS data when you are standing still, there is a bit of a fluctuation, indicating movement, so can't go by that.(based on that you're always moving a tiny bit) And with a time based auto pause ("speed under X for Y seconds"), the problem is that the "Y" seconds of data is already recorded in the fit file, and you can't just rewind Y seconds to remove it. (at least not from CIQ)
