Let us share some enthusiasm about this gorgeous watch coming our way.

Here is my story; being an old Omega Seamaster owner, I was actually looking for something alike in quality. I looked at Omega, TAG Heuer and alike. However allthough all these watches are very nice, each and every time I came to the conclusion that I can't live without 24/7 HR and smart notifications. I am a passionate athlete; so I much like to keep track on my resting HR. And that's actually it - none of the premium brands I looked at deliver that.

And then Marq is being launched - just in the middle of my search :-) What a funny coincidence! Cause BOOM - this is just what I was looking for. Mann that was a sweet surprise :-)

Since I am an athlete, I ordered the Marq Athlete version. That watch has exactly what I want. Really nice materials, 3. gen OHR, and smart notifications. Plus add to this - all Fenix' functionallity, a speedier processor and 12 days battery.

Oh yeah!

Despite being expensive - and please don't get me wrong here - I think this is bang on. I don't mind paying premium for premium. Yes - one could argue the display resolution is not high enough. Personally I would have liked to see HD graphics. But honestly said - that's not the deal breaker for me. The materials are though. And this is where I believe Garmin did the right choice. Premium materials with long battery and an OK display.

So I can't wait to get mine :-)

What about you? What version did you buy?

  • Actually I swapped the Athlete version to an Expedition ;-)

Agreed - I might pick another one for running and then "just" use my Expedition as a daily driver. But with 24/7 HR etc....

having run with a 5x and a 5x plus ti, it isn't as bad as you think.
  • Years ago I used to run with a Suunto Ambit 3. That watch is 80-85 grams. At that time, it was actually quite normal. Also the Polar V800 is about 85 grams. So far I have had no issues with it, although I do feel the watch, though it's not much while running.

That said, I'm well aware of newer watches are much lighter, hence I might use a lighter one for running. I don't know - we'll see about it ;-)

For me - the Expedition is more like a real watch to me. But with all the smart features of a modern sportswatch. This is where I believe Garmin really nailed with this series. No other on the marked offers the same package. I get it may be a niche. But I'm all in. Finally a great watch made of great materials. It's gonna look so much better than my F5S+
  • I had a look at a bunch of videos, which I hadn't done before the MARQ Expedition.
    ??????
I feel the watch looks stunning (also when compared to the other models); it would also look great with a light titanium bracelet.

The only thing that I am not as thrilled about is the non-DLC body and bezel. The Athlete has a DLC bezel but it's body isn't .

The only fully DLC option is the Driver.

Go for it! The Driver version looks fantastic if you have the means :) [and please post pics of whatever version you go for]
  • I would have considered it but I wouldn't be able to keep the 23.5% discount I got by mistake.

Should, hopefully, be getting the Expedition delivered in the first week of April. I will definitely share my impressions of it.
  • Update from Jura Watches:

That's great thank you, I have had a look into this for you and I'm pleased to confirm that Garmin are currently in the process of shipping these to us!

We have allocated a piece to yourself and we are receiving that here towards the end of this week/beginning of next. Of course as soon as we receive that here we can get that shipped out for you on a pre-1pm guaranteed delivery service.
  • You went for the Expedition model like I did, right?

And mine should be in the same shipment :-)
  • Only people ordering from Jura are getting watches by next week?
  • Latest update from Jura Watches:

I'm afraid there has been a slight delay with the shipment of the Marq pieces, we are now expected to receive these approx. week commencing 15th April. However, please be rest assured that we have managed to allocate you a piece from the very first shipment we receive so once we receive that here we will get that shipped out to you on a pre-1pm next day delivery service.

We were expecting them by the end of this week however the first shipment has been pushed back slightly I'm afraid, we do only relay the timescales in which we receive from the brands as as these pieces have proved to be so popular there has just been a delay in the production
