  • I'll not defend the compass not working, and I've encountered this as well, but it only takes seconds to recalibrate.  Press and hold left middle button and work your way through the menus to get to "Settings>Sensors & Accessories>Compass>Calibrate".  I used to find this tedious until I took a better look at the graphic... It's subtle, but it shows that the watch gets turned upside down for the left side of the "figure 8", which makes it easy to calibrate while still on the wrist.

Calibrating is quick and always seems to restore accurate compass function immediately.  I suspect this is needed because the compass likely gets turned off to save battery when not in use.

  • This dis the trick for me, my altimeter was jumping +500 meters of elevation right after calibration. Setting the barometer to millibars fixed it!

  • Had no problem's at all with this update. Updated easily from my phone. Everything working as it should, I have 91 days of battery after it being in the sun for 4hrs. I have the instinct solar, the resin version, it is more tactical than the tactical version as being resin based it doesn't set off scaners or metal detectors or interfere with othe clearance devices. Thanks Garmin, great work.

  • Guys, the official 17.50 update killed my barometer, hence rendering my instinct useless as that same sensor gives altitude data. Please roll us back to something that works ASAP. I need that for my job.

  • Me pasa igual!

  • Since I updated the detection of the positive / negative difference in height is wrong.
Via garmin connect (web) the altitude correction is active and the altitude difference is updated correctly (not on the watch).
Yesterday I tried to recalibrate the altimeter with GPS detection. This morning a bike ride of maximum 150md + gave me 900md + ......... any solution? On the elevation profile of the track everything is ok! It's just a miscalculation of the recorded data (or at least I think) :(
