  • I cannot find the update 4.80. My instinct has a GPS version of 2.? How do I get it

You won't get it, since it is just for Instinct Solar (different GPS chip)

FYI, the latest GPS Software Version for the Instinct is 2.70.

    HTH

  • Even worse, the 12.10 did not fix the problems with lap swims.

  • I've had battery issues since this update.

The over estimation of battery remaining to be exact.

Previously I knew where I Stood with battery estimation and when to charge it.

At first I thought the battery life had suddenly increased immensely. 3 hours GPS navigating a route, next day couple of hours GPS usage and still only 1 bar gone.

Then when I get to 3 bars, after an hour of GPS usage it starts warning me Battery low. I end the recording mid hike, and 5 mins later flashing low battery changes to 3 bars again.

Intensity minutes work even without Heart rate monitor.

With the cold weather I've been turning the HRM off as I'm wearing the watch over gloves, I get even more intensity minutes. It's as if it records intensity minutes due to activity minutes because it has no heart rate data.

Example.  I noticed this through the summer as well, when I had heart rate turned off to save battery, my intensity minutes went though the roof.

  • The week before was even crazier for recording intensity minutes despite heartrate data turned off for most activities.

  • The week before was even crazier for recording intensity minutes despite heartrate data turned off for most activities

And the fact you turned off the HRM is exacty the reason for it. When there is no HRM, the IMs are calculated on the basis of steps, instead of the HR.
