Why aren't my text notifications working?

I've looked into this a bit, and am wondering why I don't get text notifications on my Instinct. I unpaired my Instinct and my iPhone XR, re-paired them, and it still isn't working. I know I can't reply to texts with my Instinct, and that's fine, but I would like to see them. Thanks for any help!

This was solved for me today via the Garmin help chat. I was receiving all phone notifications except text notification on an iPhone Xs.

Verify watch configuration: Settings > Phone > Smart Notifications…

I found that on my iPhone I had to go to settings -> notifications -> set ‘show previews’ to ‘always‘ -> AND THEN on the same screen go down to -> messages -> Then set ‘show previews‘ to ‘always’…

There is no menu option on the top left on the connect app. Is the menu option else where ?

I had a fitbit charge 2 that stopped getting notifications from my phone. My husband got me a new Garmin watch for my birthday yesterday and I was getting notifications but NOT TEXT. This thread was the first time I ever saw the bit about the Show Previews setting and it fixed it! Thank you so much for posting!

I have tried all of the above and re connected and re paired every possible combination of things and still no notifications. Everything else is still working and connected fine, just nothing coming through for texts, calls or other notifications from my phone! Help please !!

Please work through this Support Center article to troubleshoot your incoming smart notifications issue:

- My Garmin Device Is Not Receiving Smart Notifications from My Phone

If you haven't already, Bluetooth connect your Instinct through the Garmin Connect Mobile APP on any other smartphone and test incoming smart notifications. If your issue takes place on multiple smartphones, you can confidently state the issue is with the watch itself vs. a random setting on your smartphone.
